So after watching the first three days of CoE and then finding out that I really didn't want to watch the rest because of what happened, I vowed never to write any more Torchwood stories, nor read anything on the internet. The second part of that vow lasted three days, the first part, one week. I said I was never going to write a fix-it fic - I am in the process of writing six of them!
This first one belongs in what will be known as the What If? 'Verse, and there will - hopefully - be five of them: one for each day of the supposed season three. In them, I will fix up some plot holes and make them more Janto friendly :) They will, when completed, be able to be read in any order because they won't follow on from each other. The sixth story that I mentioned will be a stand-alone where I'm going to rewrite CoE and change around Ianto and Gwen's roles somewhat (it will still be Janto, don't worry).
So here is the first story, which is currently my personal canon :) I would appreciate feedback to know whether I've achieved my aim of writing a good fix-it fic.
